Welcome to the Catholic Handmade Scrapbook!

Hello! Welcome to the Catholic Handmade Scrapbook Blog!

We're Jessica and Joe and Catholic Handmade is our little family business. It started as a little side project for me when we were newly married and waiting and praying for a baby. Some of my first products were sewn goods (baby blankets, bags and pouches), handmade clay bead jewelry, and paper garlands I made from old books.

I can still remember when I made my first sale on Etsy -- I literally did a happy dance in our small living room with our baby John (he's ten now)! Our current Catholic Handmade logo is the same one I drew at our kitchen table all those years ago.

I can also remember the time we made one of our first big greeting card wholesale orders: I wrapped the package in Christmas wrapping paper thinking it would be cute and festive, only to learn that the package was never delivered and lost in transit because the wrapping paper (and, consequently, the addresses) was ripped off in the post office machine. (They actually returned the crumpled ball of wrapping paper back to me in a plastic bag since it still had the return address on it... that was not a good feeling!)

We've been at it for a while and we've been learning and growing over the years as a family and as a business -- the growing pains are real, people! But God is good and He is faithful and overall this family business thing has been a lot of fun. : )

Lately we've been feeling like it's time to start creating a space for other Catholics to connect and encourage each other on this (sometimes bumpy!) journey of life and faith. So to start, we thought we'd try our hand at blogging!

Here in the Catholic Handmade Scrapbook we hope to share things like:

  • Q&A's with other Catholic Business owners
  • Inspiration behind our Catholic Handmade Products and Collections
  • Reviews of our products and glimpses of them "out in the wild"
  • Occasional family updates and maybe a few of our favorite recipes
  • And...??? (We'll see where the Holy Spirit leads!)

It's our hope and prayer that this space is a place of encouragement, inspiration, hope, and just makes you feel loved and reminded that "with God all things are possible."

Thanks for being here, friends.

God bless!
